ALL STUDENTS:

BBCHS is hosting the Basketball Individual Skills Competition for Special Olympics on January 23rd, 2010.  Best Buddies are being asked to volunteer in helping with registration, opening ceremonies, competition, snacks, and awards from 9:00am until 1:45pm.  Please sign-up in Room W107 by this Friday, January 15th if you are able to volunteer. It’s not too late to start reading one of the Abraham Lincoln books! In order to vote for your favorite you must read at least four titles on the list.  How about Look Me in the Eye: My Life With Asperger’s?   John Elder Robinson describes his life growing up in an unusual family, his unique talents, and trying to live a “normal” life.  (Mrs. Mills 1/12)

Congratulations to Scholastic Bowl on the 36-team Coaches’ Tournament in Bensenville this Saturday.  During the 5 preliminary rounds, they beat St. Charles (445/110), Glenbard East B team (325/85), St. Patrick (380/210), Timothy Christian (275/260), and Plano (290/150).  During final rounds, they beat Wheaton North (370/200) and St. Ignatius (350/240), before losing to Fenwick for a 4th place finish.  Brian Ginn won the second position on the all-tournament team.  The next time scobowl plays is January 20th, here, and fans are welcome to come watch. Great Job to all our Speech Team members who competed at the Reed-Custer Invitational Tournament this past Saturday! Nick Allen placed 5th out of 42 in his event – Prose Reading…CONGRATULATIONSJ! (A. Greene 1/13)
