ASSESSMENT
Using the notes, viewing guides, and other materials you’ve generated during this video unit, write responses to the following questions. Support your ideas and opinions with references to films we’ve watched during the semester – you may simply use a parenthetical reference within the text (for example: (Seduction of a Nation)). Your response should be typewritten, using 1” margins and 12-point type in a “typewriter”-like font. There is no specified length for your response – you should do enough to, in your mind, get the job done. Papers will be due on _______________ at the beginning of class.
From the films we have viewed this semester, choose the dominant theme to which you’ve been exposed – that is, summarize what you’ve seen and heard in one concise sentence, and then tell how the theme ran through our coursework.
What for you is the most memorable anecdote seen in a film screened in this course? Relate its impact to your life. What was the visual that most moved you, and why? Who was the most memorable individual you saw in one of he films and why?
As the main part of your response, please refer to the attached Pyramid of Hate. Give specific examples (in detail) from our film viewing to support various ideas on the Pyramid (you do not need to address every criteria/characteristic listed). Begin at the bottom and progress upward.
As a conclusion, what would you say or write to a fellow student that would serve as a recommendation for this course of study, or why would you advise that same student to avoid this coursework?
